Boomer

Mini Horse

Boomer is a playful little fella who (like many mini horses) suffers from some health problems due to being bred to such a small size. But, with his best friend Lollipop by his side, Boomer gained weight and confidence ,and is an energetic youngster now.

Dunny

Dun Quarter Horse

Dunny is a Dun colored Quarterhorse. He has laminitis and other hoof issues so he needs retirement. Sweet Dunny is a gentle gelding, and gets along with everyone.

Micky

American Cream Draft/Appaloosa

Micky is a "gentle giant" draft horse with a long history as lesson barn favorite. He is also special because he was a foal rescued from a Premarin farm! He wears that fly mask as his sunglasses to protect his eyes from the sun.

Squirt

Welsh Pony

Squirt is a strawberry roan Welsh Pony and came to the Sanctuary with his mother, Dory. He is the youngest horse at the Sanctuary and is playful and wild. Like his mother, Squirt is also partially blind.

Cash

Mini Horse

Cash is from Tolland, CT. He had never lived with other horses before he came to the Sanctuary, so when he first arrived he lived with the goats. He is very calm natured and now enjoys living with the other minis.

Gypsy

Mini Horse

Gypsy came from Carlisle, MA. She is an extremely sweet minihorse who was quite shy at the beginning but is now relaxed and trusting, and has a little crush on Cash.

Pony Boy

Welsh Pony Cross

Pony Boy is a tiny Welsh pony cross and a sweet gentleman (bay with handsome white socks and a blaze). He loves to be with his equine friends

Sunny

Morgan/Haflinger Cross

Sunny is a former work horse and lesson pony who could no longer be ridden due to a hoof problem. He is a stunning, sturdy, and super-sweet boy who loves to run around his paddock and nuzzle up next to his many admirers.

Dory

Welsh Pony

Dory is a Welsh Pony who was rescued with her son, Squirt. She was completely blind in her left eye and is enjoying her retirement at the Sanctuary. She loves baths, walks, and meeting visitors.

Lollipop

Mini Horse

Lollipop is a little pinto who came to the sanctuary with her BFF Boomer. She is only 27 inches tall, but that doesn’t stop her from taking charge! Snacking used to be her main passion, but we’re working on helping her expand her horizons.

Ripley

Chincoteaugue-POA Pony

Ripley is a young pony, with plenty of playfulness. He likes to tussle and play with Squirt, who is about his age. When he was first rescued, he was to be adopted out to a safe home, but his genetic orthopedic issues make it a great thing for him to have found sanctuary.

Sweetie

Welsh Pony

Sweetie came from a riding lesson barn. She has since retired after many years of teaching children to ride but still loves visitors. We definitely pamper her, since she is a senior.
